About the Position

VHB’s is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Orlando, FL team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.


  • Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation planning studies, report documents, and transportation master and action plans 
  • Conduct traffic analysis, concept development, and traffic operations studies
  • Assist with the development of smart cities and emerging transportation technologies planning studies, concept development and implementation planning
  • Assist with development of support materials for public involvement activities
  • Support with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects
  • Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
  • Review transportation studies and policy documents

 Skills & Abilities

  • Working knowledge of software such as Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as ArcGIS and Excel
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently
  • A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
  • The ability to work on multiple projects
  • Capability to work remotely, as needed


  • Minimum of 4 years professional experience beyond research and academia
  • Experience with FDOT projects recommended
  • Candidates must have a BS in Civil Engineering
  • EIT or PE Registration required
