About the Position

VHB is seeking an Environmental Aviation Planner with proven experience in NEPA and sustainability projects to join our Aviation team!

 

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented, collaborative, and innovative problem-solver with a passion for the aviation industry and airports who wants to build a dynamic career in Aviation and Environmental Planning with a nationally recognized company. This position allows for professional growth and leadership through challenging and rewarding projects for a variety of aviation-related clients and services.

 

This position requires COVID-19 vaccination per client requirements and can be fully remote. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Project management for complex airport planning, environmental and sustainability-related aviation planning studies
  • Research, analysis, and creation of aviation planning documents including but limited to:
    • Airport sustainability management plans
    • NEPA, FAA Section 163
    • Master plans, terminal area plans
  • Assist the director of aviation services with business development

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of experience in Aviation Planning/Environmental projects (master plans, EAs, EIS, Facility Planning)
  • Well-versed in NEPA process for projects at all sizes of airports
  • Experience with monitoring scope, schedule, and budget for task orders
  • Ability to coordinate with other VHB service lines to position for projects at key airports
  • Ability to travel as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NEPA experience
  • Experience working with FAA and State DOTs
  • AAAE CM, ENV SP, LEED, AICP, or other planning/environmental/sustainability-related certifications
  • Project management experience
  • Experience with business development and proposal writing
  • Ability to deliver technical innovation and bring extraordinary value to our aviation clients
  • Active in the Aviation industry by being a thought leader and involved in service organizations
  • Actively participate in developing aviation business opportunities throughout the United States
  • Experience mentoring aviation environmental/planning staff
  • Two or more years of experience in Airport Master Planning
  • Familiarity with sustainability and resiliency plans
