Site Civil Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s South Burlington, VT office is seeking an experienced Site/Civil Engineer to join our Land Development group. The successful candidate will work with our team of professionals to support all aspects of site/civil engineering for public and private site and infrastructure design, including grading and drainage design, utility design, and stormwater system design for projects ranging from renewable energy facilities , ski resort and recreational areas, infill housing development, transportation, and water quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Work within an integrated team of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude and public and private infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainability and resiliency
• Preparation of design plans from schematic design through construction documents
• Assist in the preparation of permitting, design and construction documents
• Technical and Design Report writing
• Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field
• 3-5 years of professional site/civil engineering experience, including consulting/private sector experience
• EIT preferred
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required
• GIS, HydroCAD, and StormCAD experience a plus
• Experience preparing graphics and maps
