ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB is seeking a Land Development Project Manager to join our Land Development (Civil Engineering) team based in Tampa or Sarasota, FL.

VHB is on the lookout for a talented Land Development Project Manager to become a key player within our Land Development Planning and Design team in Tampa, FL

Responsibilities

  • Work with a production team to develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects, including large and medium-scale projects
  • Support preparation of various land development design and permitting documents
  • Responsible for project financial performance and client relations
  • Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the designs
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them
  • Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration
  • Manage work and development of junior-level staff
  • Manage small, medium, or large projects
  • Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions

Skills and Attributes

  • Highly Proficient in the following:
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D
    • Microsoft Project
    • MS Office Suite
  • Skills to implement our integrated services approach
  • Comprehensive understanding of design, details, and construction drawing preparation including site layout, grading, drainage, and utilities
  • Knowledge of Florida land development construction including codes and development regulations
  • Knowledge of construction materials and detailing
  • Experience with green initiative programs and low-impact design (LEED, Envision)
  • Excellent innovative design skills
  • Project research and analysis
  • Strong, creative engineering skills and ability to adhere to office standards
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-motivated, ability to think critically
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
  • Excels at working in a team environment
  • Exhibits strong leadership skills and growth potential
  • Has interest in growing business development skills

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil Engineering or related degree
  • 8+ years of increasing engineering experience on complex projects
  • PE licensure in Florida or able to obtain within 12 months
  • Proficient in site layout, grading, utility, and stormwater management design
  • Experience in developing and compiling/producing site plans, construction documents, specifications, and engineering reports
