ABOUT THE POSITION

Project Manager - Site Investigation & Remediation | Hauppauge, NY | Hybrid

 

VHB is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Environmental Scientist / Engineer / Geologist for our strong and growing Site Investigation & Remediation practice in Hauppauge, NY. This hire will assist in team, client, and project management responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with clients to determines requirements and develop plans, specifications, drawings, instructions, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, and related documents
  • Develop and manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs
  • Provide mentoring and hands-on support to junior team members during field exploration and testing
  • Interpret and communicate investigation findings
  • Leverage technology to support data management and visualization
  • Manage Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, engineering evaluation/cost analyses, remedial investigation/feasibility studies and long-term monitoring programs
  • Review and write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda

  • Ability to work primarily in the office with some field oversight
  • Effectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clients

  • Strong understanding of State regulatory requirements
  • Ability to make quick decisions regarding regulatory applicability and respond to clients in an efficient manner
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Motivated and able to problem-solve
  • Strong knowledge of site assessment/characterization, data analysis, remediation techniques, and risk assessment
  • Experience working on contaminated sites throughout New York including interaction with local, State, and Federal regulators
  • PFAS experience and knowledge preferred

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Geology, Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, or related field required
  • 8-11 years of professional environmental remediation experience required, depending on level of education (master’s may substitute for 1 year)
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • OSHA 40 hr. HAZWOPER certification and annual refresher certifications required
  • Professional Licensure expected or on track to obtain (PE, PG, CHMM, QEP)

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Hauppauge, NY is $87,000-125,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
