Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Atlanta, Georgia office is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern to join our team for the Fall of 2024. This is an exciting part-time opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.

 

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documentation to support National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and similar environmental review documentation for aviation projects, which includes preparing quantitative, qualitative, and spatial analyses for the planning-related chapters, including land use, zoning and public policy; community facilities; open space; socioeconomic conditions; shadows; urban design; and infrastructure.
  • Prepare environmental permitting documents
  • Consult and coordinate with regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate with project team members

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fast learner, self-motivated
  • Highly organized
  • Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GIS, desired
  • Experience with Adobe Suite a plus

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in environmental science, urban planning, public policy, or a related field.

Hiring Salary Range: $19/hr - $28/hr. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
