ABOUT THE POSITION
Mobile Data Collection Manager | Hybrid
VHB is seeking to hire a Mobile Data Collection Manager to join our growing Technology team, with flexibility to be based out of any of our VHB offices. The qualified candidate will work within VHB’s Technology team to continue to design, manage and promote VHB’s enterprise-level Mobile Data Collection program to a diverse group of internal teams working in the transportation, state/local, energy, institutional, real estate, and federal markets.
The successful candidate should have hands-on experience in Esri’s mobile collection platforms and be proficient in the Esri Software Suite (Desktop platforms, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Survey123 and Field Maps), experience with other mobile data collection platforms is also desired (Synchro from Bentley and Autodesk Construction Cloud). Understanding of GPS, LiDAR and Drone data collection technologies and applications beneficial. The position offers opportunities to work across all VHB’s geographic footprint and engage on a variety of project types from existing conditions documentation, construction inspection, construction verification, as well as develop tools for internal data review and progress tracking.

Responsibilities
- Serves as VHB’s Mobile Data Collection thought leader.
- Work across multiple teams, coordinating with Regional Technology and GIS Leaders to identify and develop new applications to be advanced, collecting user feedback on existing applications for enhancement, and develop user stories for applications to be used by project teams.
- Work with a team that designs, develops, configures, and implements the applications to assist project team members with the understanding and use of applications to collect, maintain and integrate data collected in the field into our work (including Esri, Autodesk and Bentley).
- Provide support in configuring mobile applications such as Esri’s ArcGIS Online/Portal (ArcGIS Field Maps, Survey123, StoryMaps, ArcGIS Dashboard, Web Maps and Web Applications), PowerBI, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) to support project work.
- Communicate and be able to work as an individual with dispersed team members to collect application ideas, develop data structure, field test, and deploy applications.
- Develop a training program and work with VHB’s Learning and Development Team and GIS Leadership to implement the program.
- Develop and work with other Technology teams to implement a management strategy for field collection hardware (iPads, cameras, and GPS) across regions.
- Partner with Data and AI teams to manage and leverage field collected data across different projects and expose data to VHB staff.
- Prepare requirements analysis and develop user stories and articulate use cases for tools to software engineering team and project managers.
Skills and Attributes
- Skilled in task management and project management.
- Understanding of ACC or Projectwise data access integration of ESRI data using tools like GeoBIM for project teams.
- Demonstrated proficiency of mobile data collection tools and management of projects in the AEC industry.
- Strong technical communication and presentation skills for application development and end user training.
- Ability to adopt new technology and tools rapidly.
- Team oriented with strong leadership skills.
- Strong collaborator and thought leader for mobile data solutions.

Qualifications
- 8-10+ years of professional experience in the use of GIS/mobile data management tools within Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry with at least 5 years of project/task management experience required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, GIS, Engineering, Planning, Geography or related field preferred
- Experience configuring Esri ArcGIS mobile applications (Survey123 and Field Maps), Esri Online Platforms, Desktop, Web, and strong understanding of Esri data models required
- Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud or Bentley Projectwise for project data management preferred
- Experience with AI/ML tools preferred
- Experience working with LiDAR data for design and environment analysis, additional experience with IR, multispectral sensors and GPS preferred
