Community Planning Intern – Summer 2025

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Tampa office is actively seeking a Community Planning Intern to join our Planning + Design group for Summer 2025.

Responsibilities

• Prepare written planning documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
• Prepare graphics, maps and diagrams to support planning projects
• Prepare presentation materials for public meetings. Attend and assist with presentations and workshops
• Effectively interact with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner
• Participate in public engagement and outreach support

Skills and Attributes

• Strong skillset of written and oral communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and time management
• Familiarity with basic planning principles
• Ability to work collaboratively as well as independently with guidance
• Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in urban planning, sustainability, environmental sciences, or related field
