Entry Level Structural Engineer

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Watertown, MA office is seeking a part-time Entry Level Structural Engineer to join our team during the spring of 2025.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with the creation of new design plans
• Perform engineering design of highway, pedestrian, and railroad bridges and other structures
• Preparation of specifications, reports, and final bid packages 
• Calculate quantities and develop construction cost estimates
• Assist in the field with bridge inspections (desirable) and load ratings

Skills and Attributes

• Must possess strong technical skills
• Use engineering design and CAD software in the preparation of plan documents 
• Excellent attention to detail, strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Team oriented with strong capability to work independently

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering 
• 0-1 year of engineering experience and possess a broad understanding and technical skills in bridge design
