Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Chief Engineer for the current and future Water Resources Group in Raleigh and Charlotte
  • Develop and manage client relationships
  • Assist Group Manager with staff, providing technical and professional development of the team
  • Strategize the expansion of water resources services in North Carolina and South Carolina
  • Manage projects of varying sizes in both the public and private sectors, monitoring project financial performance
  • Lead meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues
  • Execute project scopes for water resources projects, from feasibility studies to final PS&E packages
  • Develop new project opportunities and assist in proposal submissions
  • Collaborate with Charlotte and Raleigh Leadership on strategies for the Transportation, Real Estate, State & Local Government, and Institutional market sectors

  • Capability to manage a multidisciplinary team of professionals
  • Understanding of policy directives and their impact on the marketplace
  • Details-oriented with critical thinking skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Experience working in a collaborative team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a strong work ethic
  • Thorough knowledge of local and state regulations governing water resources design
  • Familiarity with Charlotte and Mecklenburg County policies and practices in project delivery is a plus

Qualifications

  • BS in Civil/Environmental/Biological Engineering
  • 15 years of professional transportation engineering/planning experience including project management
  • Professional (PE) license required
  • Proven success in the transportation, state & local government, real estate, and/or institutional market sectors
  • Substantial technical and project management experience
  • Knowledge of NCDOT technical requirements and procedures and familiarity with South Carolina and North Carolina regulatory processes
