You will collaborate with a dynamic team of professionals from diverse disciplines, fostering innovation and comprehensive solutions that will benefit the community we love.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of professionals to develop creative, cost-effective, and compliant solutions for sites that are complicated by the presence of contamination.
  • Manage diverse SI&R projects while maintaining and growing client relationships.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of project deliverables (e.g. Phase I ESAs, desktop due diligence memos, site investigation reports, evaluations and corrective action alternatives, soil management plans, corrective action plans, etc.) with a high level of proficiency.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, including coaching of field procedures, task and budget management, and promotion of a positive client experience.
  • Represent VHB through participation in professional organizations, conferences, and community engagement.
  • Stay current with regulations, emerging contaminants, evolving technologies, and industry trends.

What You Bring

  • Excellent communication skills, including exceptional writing and the ability to review technical documents with attention to detail.
  • Innovative spirit and a growth mindset—eager to build new client relationships and expand our visibility in the region.
  • Strong team leadership, adaptability, collaborative problem-solving and an ability to support the career development of junior staff.
  • Field and office experience (role is primarily office-based, with occasional field oversight).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related field (Master’s a plus).
  • 5-8+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting and site remediation.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER and current 8-hour refresher certification required.
  • PE licensure in Vermont preferred, and/or PG in New England or New York preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of VTDEC IRule. Familiarity with NHDES or NYDEC regulations a plus.
  • Established positive relationships with VTDEC and EPA Region 1 strongly preferred.
