ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s Orlando, FL office ihas an immediate opening for a Senior Transportation Planner! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
Responsibilities
- Development of transportation planning studies for a multitude of transportation projects
- Development of support materials for public involvement activities
- Authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects
- Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
- Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results
- Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently
- A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
- The ability to work on multiple projects and work independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with communication tools such, Word, PowerPoint, and graphics software
Qualifications
- 11-15 years of planning, consulting, and compliance experience
- BA in Planning or related area of study relevant to specialization, Master’s degree a plus
- Professional planning certification preferred (i.e., American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP),
- Supervisory experience preferred
