Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Orlando, FL office ihas an immediate opening for a Senior Transportation Planner! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.

 

Responsibilities

  • Development of transportation planning studies for a multitude of transportation projects
  • Development of support materials for public involvement activities
  • Authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects
  • Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
  • Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results
  • Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities

 

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently
  • A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
  • The ability to work on multiple projects and work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency with communication tools such, Word, PowerPoint, and graphics software

Qualifications

  • 11-15 years of planning, consulting, and compliance experience
  • BA in Planning or related area of study relevant to specialization, Master’s degree a plus
  • Professional planning certification preferred (i.e., American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP),
  • Supervisory experience preferred
