Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB’s Bedford, NH office is looking for an Entry Level Traffic Engineer to join our Traffic Operations group. The selected candidate will work with a team of transportation planners and engineers on a variety of public, private and institutional projects within broad cross-section of markets, including municipal, state agencies, and higher education.

 

Responsibilities

  • Working within a team of professionals in developing traffic and transportation planning and engineering solutions for a multitude of transportation projects
  • Traffic impact studies
  • Developing sign, pavement marking, and traffic signal design plans in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
  • Developing traffic signal timing plans
  • Preparing written documents, summarizing data and analysis, and assembling reports to convey findings and recommendations
  • Collecting and tabulating traffic data
  • Performing intersection and corridor operational analyses using Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, Vissim, and other analysis tools
  • Analyzing, developing, and evaluating of traffic improvements
  • Performing field equipment testing, utility, and infrastructure verification (i.e., taking measurements and pictures at field sites)

  • Excel in working in a team environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation a plus
  • Experience with Synchro, Vissim, and/or HCS a plus
