ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s Orlando, FL office is seeking a Transportation Planner to join their Project Development & Environment (PD&E) group. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.
Responsibilities
- Assist in development of transportation planning studies for a multitude of transportation projects
- Assist with development of support materials for public involvement activities
- Support with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects
- Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports
- Conduct planning assessments using analytical tools such as GIS to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop documentation to summarize results
- Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities

- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently
- A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve
- The ability to work on multiple projects and work independently
- Excellent attention to detail
- Proficiency with communication tools such, Word, PowerPoint, and graphics software
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in planning, civil engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 1-3+ years of related professional planning and/or compliance experience
