ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking a Senior Revit Designer, to work in one of our Metro DC offices, experienced in modeling of buildings and structures, to join its team. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic organization and become a member of a growing team while working on assignments across the VHB footprint.    Responsibilities: - Collaborate with engineers and architects to develop structural drawings from conceptual phase to final design for a variety of buildings and transportation infrastructure projects. - Provide Revit modeling support to Project Planners and Managers as needed during project planning phase. - Create and manage structural models and integrate with architectural/MEP/civil models and CAD file. - Develop /update BIM standards, workflows and quality control to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency - Mentor junior Revit and CAD designers and lead the design team on model coordination and planset production. ABOUT THE POSITION Regional Healthcare Sector Leader VHB has an immediate need for a Regional Healthcare Sector Leader to help expand our growing institutional practice in the Mid-Atlantic region (DC Metro, Virginia/North Carolina). The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in healthcare capital project design/permitting and/or healthcare campus planning and design with existing relationships and contacts at the decision-making level within the region. In addition to aiding in the development of a market growth strategy, the Healthcare Sector Leader will be responsible for managing key client relationships, coordinating project teams, and overseeing healthcare and other key institutional projects in the region. The position requires a proven ability to develop business, establish meaningful client relationships, manage projects, and coach and mentor staff. ABOUT THE POSITION Senior CAD Designer – Elevator / Vertical Transportation   VHB’s growing Northeast region has an immediate need for a Senior CAD Designer with strong experience in AutoCAD, elevator design experience a plus, to join our Vertical Transportation team. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Metro DC (Tysons, VA and Washington, DC) and I-64 (Richmond, Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach, VA) offices are seeking a GIS Analyst to join the team.   Under moderate supervision receives assignments to conduct spatial analyses. Produces maps, configures web and mobile applications that express the results of analytical processes using Geographic Information System (GIS) desktop and online software. Coordinates the procurement and distribution of spatial data. Participates in the design and implementation of spatial databases and assists programming and software staff understand spatial data processes in support of creating and maintaining end-user applications. Under supervision prepare project plans, direct vendors, and coordinate internal team members in the completion of spatial data collection plans and projects.   Responsibilities - Performs standard and moderately complex analysis of spatial data using GIS technology (e.g., buffering, spatial overlays, distance calculations). - Diagnosis and troubleshoots GIS software across the entire GIS software stack. - Researches and corrects problems with data using spatial and logical analyses. - Performs data searches and retrievals. - Extracts and organizes data. - Research source documents to resolve missing or conflicting data. - Converts GIS data to CAD software format. - Uses coordinate geometry to convert surveying data to GIS format. - Task manages aspects of standard and moderately complex GIS projects or independently manages components of more complex GIS projects. - Creates and manages online tools using spatial data. - Serves as a database administrator for spatial data which may include versioning databases. - Reviews work products of other technical staff. - Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals. - Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures. ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Environmental Engineer / Geologist - Federal Site Investigation & Remediation | Hybrid | Any VHB Office   VHB is seeking a Senior Project Manager/ Environmental Engineer / Geologist for our strong and growing Federal Site Investigation & Remediation practice.  This professional will support Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) response actions for federal land managers at contaminated sites located across the United States. Response activities will include managing preliminary assessments/site inspections, engineering evaluation/cost analyses, remedial investigation/feasibility studies, removal/remedial design, removal/remedial actions, and long-term monitoring programs.   Responsibilities - Manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs - Collaborate with other federal practice members - Provide occasional hands-on support during field exploration and testing - Leverage technology to support data management and visualization - Interpret/synthesize site investigation data - Evaluate potential contaminant migration pathways - Collaborate with human health and ecological risk assessors - Evaluate applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements (ARARs) - Effectively communicate project status and findings to clients through technical reports, correspondence, memoranda, and presentations - Perform routine project management tasks (proposal writing, budget tracking, invoicing) and develop new project opportunities - Mentor and possibly supervise junior team members - Manage client relationships - Attend and lead meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/compliance issues - Participate in professional organizations that promote relationships with clients and teaming partners - Write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda Skills and Attributes - Strong understanding of comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) response actions for federal clients - Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clients - Knowledge of site assessment/characterization, data analysis, remediation techniques, human health and ecological risk assessment processes - Understanding of contaminant transport and fate - Excellent written, report writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to recognize and manage business risk - Ability to problem solve and work independently Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field - Master’s Degree preferred (a master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience) - 11-15 years of professional site investigation and remediation experience required - Experience investigating and/or remediating sites subject to the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) required - Experience writing proposals for and managing federal contracts preferred - OSHA 40 hr. Responsibilities: These responsibilities summarized below demonstrate a breadth of services in design, operations, safety, and policy.  The ultimate candidate does not need to be deeply knowledgeable of all technical areas; rather, the responsibilities could include some or all of these as determined by the candidate’s strengths and interests. - Manage traffic engineering, transportation planning, and/or safety projects and contracts - Oversee quality and contribute to complex technical decisions on a range of multimodal transportation engineering assignments - Apply deep understanding of traffic signal design, operations, and/or systems - Complete traffic safety and operational improvement studies for localized intersections and corridors - Provide analyses of traffic safety issues and crash reduction measures - Address community traffic engineering and safety issues - Manage projects involving the design of traffic control devices (signs, markings, signals) and/or ITS. - Manage projects involving simulation and signal optimization plans to maximize transportation system throughput (using Synchro, Sidra, Vissim or related software) - Complete interchange justification, functional design and access management reports - Develop mobility solutions which consider all users, including motorists, bicyclists, public transit users and pedestrians of all ages and abilities. - Support policy and design guidance documents for traffic, technology, and control devices. - Manage or support projects involving transportation technology including innovative, technology-driven approaches to serving transportation agency’s evolving needs. ABOUT THE POSITION   VHB is seeking a Structural Team Leader to lead our dynamic and growing Structures group in our Washington, DC or Tysons, VA offices. In this position, you would serve in a lead role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects, as well as helping to lead and mentor technical staff. Responsibilities  - Prepare preliminary and final design documents for bridge-focused projects - Project management/task management - Staff mentoring/development/technical oversight - Business development - Oversee structural design of highway and/or railroad bridges, transit and rail stations, and ancillary structures - Assist in the field with structure inspections - Preparation of cost estimating and contract documents Skills & Abilities - Must possess strong technical skills - Detail oriented and quality focused - Team oriented with strong capability to work independently - Motivated to lead and mentor others - Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing is essential - Familiarity with complex structural design and detailing - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Self-motivated and collaborative - Excellent attention to detail Qualifications - 11-15 years of civil or structural engineering experience  - BS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) (1-2 years of experience can be substituted for a master’s degree) - PE licensure - Experience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO & DOT - Knowledge of structural engineering software (AASHTOWare, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, Mathcad) - AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation v8 and Connect experience is a strong plus WE ARE VHB!
