About the Position VHB is looking for an experienced data engineer to accelerate our data infrastructure. This role requires both high output and deep curiosity.  You must be experienced and able to swiftly build working data pipelines to support new data products. This includes interviewing others to clarify the needs, choosing the technology and how it fits in our data architecture, sourcing and transforming the data, checking for data quality, and automating the process and notifications. You are excited by the prospect of optimizing and re-designing our company’s data architecture to support our vision for data and analytics. We also require experience with search and indexing tools. You will have the opportunity to lead the technical architecture and implementation as we add significant new search experiences across the organization including structured data, file metadata, and file content. You will contribute to data warehouses and work with various types of data in a data lake. In a data warehouse, you must be familiar with relational databases including data schemas for data visualization. For work in the data lake, you will need a solid grounding in semi-structured data such as log files, be fluent in at least one language such as python for data manipulation and analysis, and it will be a benefit to have experience with geospatial data and files from design software. You need not be an expert yet in everything listed, however, above all else you must be endlessly curious and continuously learning.
