ABOUT THE POSITION The Workplace Operations Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day interactions with various employees, contractors, and vendors regarding facilities projects throughout the region. Within this fast-paced environment, this position must handle multiple service ticket requests and assignments and meet designated deadlines with great attention to detail and capital expenditure. Projects may also include coordinating minor construction, renovation, and preventative maintenance activities.   With this opportunity comes the responsibility of keeping our locations fully functional. It also requires providing the Workplace Operations Manager with input in the planning and design of preventative maintenance programs. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB partners with CREST (Commercial Real Estate Success Training) in a 10-week paid internship program designed to introduce women and people of color to the commercial real estate industry. The CREST Internship program runs from 6/3/2024-8/9/2024.   Experience the activity and workflows of a large engineering firm – focusing on Civil Engineering, Permitting, Environmental Resources, Survey, Planning & Landscape Architecture, and Structures. The Intern will rotate departments to get exposure to different services within VHB.   The internship will be virtual and in-person and be supplemented with site visits to various locations in MA to assist with field work. Rotation between VHBs Watertown and Boston offices.   Responsibilities - Work side by side with engineers as they develop design solutions for urban and suburban building projects - Participate in site construction observations - Exposure to CAD based design and computer modelling of stormwater systems - Participate in site research and on-site evaluations - Gain insight on what it takes to permit large and complicated real estate development projects by working closely with the Permitting Team - Work side by side with team leaders, assist with the preparation of an environmental filing to gain experience with all the different technical studies required for a filing - Assist with field survey - Get exposure to plan preparation and registry research - Work side by side with planners and they develop plans for communities and private developers Qualifications - Civil Engineering major or a student who is enrolled in Planning, Environmental Sciences, Structural Engineering or Landscape Architecture. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s growing geomatics team has a need for a remote based, per diem, traveling Geomatics Equipment Operator to join our Geomatics Team to support national project needs. This position is per-diem, requires travel, working 6 days per week, 10 hours per day, on large scale surveying projects that support natural gas pipeline, electric transmission, and other large scale energy projects.   Responsibilities Perform various land surveying tasks under the direction of more senior Land Surveyors including: - Operation, transport and setup of Robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other land surveying equipment - Land surveying including boundary line, topographic survey, construction stakeout and utility surveys - Reconnaissance and recovery of land surveying markers through use of hand tools and digging - Construction stakeout of proposed improvements, including installation of stakes through use of sledgehammers and hand tools - Operation and maintenance of surveying equipment  - Documenting all phases of survey work through clear field notes and data collection Skills and Abilities - Proficient in reading, understanding, and evaluating the significance of survey, right-of-way, engineering, and architectural drawings with respect to each survey project - Ability to learn the proper use of GPS equipment and Robotic Instruments and mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of geometry - Ability to learn and understand the basics of boundary, topographic, construction, and utility surveys - Able to think critically - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with survey staff and clients - AutoCAD experience desirable  Qualifications - 0-1 year of experience or willingness to learn using standard survey equipment (i.e., RTK GPS,total station, levels) - High school diploma or GED - Willing to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements - Ability to transport land surveying equipment, navigate and traverse through difficult terrain, environments, and wooded areas - Must have a valid driver’s license  - Travel and overnight travel for assignments outside local area - Must be able to lift 75lbs - Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D desirable, but not required - Experience with Leica survey equipment desirable, but not required We are VHB! We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking an experienced Environmental Scientist/Ecologist to join our growing Environmental Services and Energy practice. This position entails both field and office-related work with excellent growth opportunity within a vibrant and expanding environment. This position will be flexible and based out of our South Burlington, Vermont office and the successful candidate can expect the majority of fieldwork to occur throughout Vermont, within occasional field support to other offices in New England and adjacent regions of New York.   Responsibilities - Work within a team of professionals to conduct a wide array of natural resources-related studies and analysis for a variety of transportation, energy, and real estate projects, while occasionally supporting water resources projects - Conduct natural resource surveys including, but not limited to, wetland delineations and functional assessments, vernal pool surveys, wildlife habitat evaluations, and rare species surveys and habitat assessments - Participate in field natural resource investigations - Prepare natural resource study reports, including supporting documents and analyses - Assist with preparation of state, federal, and local permitting applications - Assist with environmental monitoring  Skills and Attributes - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills - Proficient using Microsoft Office Suite - Mobile data collection and familiarity with GIS software preferred - Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to grow professionally - Ability to think critically and solve problems - Strong communication skills between clients and state/federal regulators - Experience preparing State, Federal, and local permit applications preferred - Field ecology experience preferred Qualifications - B.S. in Environmental Science, Ecology, or Natural Resources related field (a Master’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience) - 1-3 years of professional natural resources fieldwork experience - Field experience performing wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and plant/animal species surveys in the Northeast US preferred - Ability and willingness to travel for at least 50% of working time during the field season. This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic organization and become a member of a growing team while working on assignments across the VHB footprint.    Responsibilities: - Collaborate with engineers and architects to develop structural drawings from conceptual phase to final design for a variety of buildings and transportation infrastructure projects. - Provide Revit modeling support to Project Planners and Managers as needed during project planning phase. - Create and manage structural models and integrate with architectural/MEP/civil models and CAD file. - Develop /update BIM standards, workflows and quality control to ensure consistency, quality and efficiency - Mentor junior Revit and CAD designers and lead the design team on model coordination and planset production. Requirements/ Qualifications:  - High school diploma or GED. ABOUT THE POSITION Under moderate supervision, the Marketing Programs Coordinator assists with the research, organization, content development, and coordination of regional marketing activities to help improve efficiency across projects and initiatives. This role also supports the facilitation of strategic collecting, analyzing, and assembling of market, client, and project information to help teams make more data-driven and informed pursuit decisions. Additionally, the person in this role should remain continually informed on market trends, competitors, and AEC industry happenings throughout the region.   Primary Duties & Responsibilities - Collects data on clients, competitors, and the AEC industry. Helps consolidate information into actionable items, reports, and presentations. - Understands regional marketing team objectives and upcoming projects. - Assists the regional marketing team in general organization, calendaring, and maintenance of client-visibility-pursuit (CVP) activities and events to support regional objectives and projects. - Supports the CRM team in maintenance of project, people, and other marketing information; reporting; and accuracy of marketing and business development metrics in the CRM and reporting dashboards (i.e., win-loss, opportunity pipeline). - Assists in drafting social media, internal/external newsletter, and other marketing materials. - Maintains regional visibility database and calendar, and coordinate details and materials needed for submissions with team. - Assists in research of marketing and visibility initiatives. - Assists in maintenance of image and graphics library with updated assets. - Assists in conference and event registration and coordinates details with relevant individuals and the regional marketing team. - Provides administration support to the regional marketing team as needed and as assigned by Marketing Leadership. - Supports the research and updating of market content for vhb.com, proposals, and other marketing deliverables. - Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals. - Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures. Skills and Attributes - Excellent analytical and quantitative skills. - Deeply creative with great problem-solving skills. - Search engines, web analytics, and business research tools acumen preferred. - Strong presentation skills. - Working knowledge of CRM programs preferred. - Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud preferred. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. - Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with coworkers. - Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented. - Skills and knowledge must be commensurate with required experience and job level. Qualifications - 0-3 years of marketing coordination, research, and information management, preferably in the AEC industry - AS/BA/BS degree in Marketing and/or Marketing Research, Library Science, Information Management, or other related degree preferable Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York, NY is $60,000-65,000.
