About the Position   Entry Level Transportation/Traffic Engineer | Bedford, NH   VHB’s Bedford, NH team is seeking an entry-level Transportation/Traffic Engineer to join our Transportation Systems group. VHB’s growing Mid-Atlantic Planning + Design practice is seeking a Landscape Architect/Project Manager.   Project types include both public and private sector clients primarily in the Mid-Atlantic region. VHB’s multiple regional offices offer outstanding cultural and outdoor recreational opportunities for the interested professional.   Responsibilities - Assist in preparing project scope and fee proposals - Effectively manage public and private projects - Work with integrated multi-disciplinary project teams, assist in developing site design from master planning and site concept through construction document phases of design - Oversee the development of model-based graphics for design development presentations and public process materials;, including sketch-up models, concept plans and diagrams, design studies, illustrative plans, cross sections and perspective sketches - Lead the production of construction documents: Develop layout and material, grading, and planting plans, technical details, and write technical specifications - Assist in preparing estimates of probable construction costs - Conduct construction site visits and plant tagging Skills & Abilities - Proficiency in working with AutoCAD, Sketch up, Adobe Suite (PhotoShop, InDesign), and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Strong management skills - Strong graphic skills and ability to organize and present ideas graphically - Ability to handle assignments from multiple project managers - Public speaking skills Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture degree or related from accredited program - Professional Landscape Architecture Registration or in pursuit of license - 5+ years of directly related professional landscape architecture experience - Familiarity with sustainable design practices desired - LEED certification preferred About Us WE ARE VHB! About the Position VHB is seeking an Entry Level Structural Building Engineer to join our dynamic and growing Structures group in our Watertown, MA office. In this position, under the direction of senior staff, you would support all aspects of transit related structural design and engineering projects including assisting in field work, preparing plan sets, performing design calculations, detailing, and assisting in the preparation of construction documents. Responsibilities  - Participate in the structural design of transit related and building structures from conceptual to final design - Participate in site visits to collect data necessary for preliminary design - Assist in drafting of project details and plans using Revit or AutoCAD - Preparation of quantity calculations and cost estimate - Assists in preparing contract documents and specifications Skills & Abilities - Effective and comfortable in a highly collaborative environment - Strong technical skills - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Self-motivated and willing to take responsibility - Eager to learn and take on technical challenges - Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality Qualifications - B.S. in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) - 0-2 years of structural engineering experience - Familiarity with MS Office Suite and MathCAD - Revit (3D modeling) and/or AutoCAD experience is a strong plus - Additional structural analysis and design software experience is a plus - Experience in commercial building projects is a plus - EIT Preferred About Us WE ARE VHB!
