ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Construction Inspector (on-call)   VHB’s growing and we're looking for qualified Senior Construction Inspectors to work on an as needed basis (great deal of flexibility on locations and work arrangements) to work on a variety of roadway, bridge and other transportation based construction projects in the New England region. ABOUT THE POSITION Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual looking for a flexible role in finance and accounting? VHB is currently seeking a part-time IT Financial Assistant to join our team. As a member of our IT department, you will be providing crucial support in accounts payable, purchase orders, reconciliation, and contract tracking for our technology related spend.   This position would be out of one of VHB’s New England offices, preferably Watertown, MA or Bedford, NH and would have the option to work from home if needed for up to 50% of the time.   This role is for 20 – 29 hours per week during core business hours. ABOUT THE POSITION Environmental/Wetland Scientist | Wethersfield, CT   VHB is seeking an Environmental Scientist to join our growing Wethersfield, CT, office. This position is a combination of work in the field and office, providing excellent growth opportunity within a vibrant team of professionals. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Metro DC (Tysons, VA and Washington, DC) and I-64 (Richmond, Williamsburg, and Virginia Beach, VA) offices are seeking a GIS Analyst to join the team.   Under moderate supervision receives assignments to conduct spatial analyses. Produces maps, configures web and mobile applications that express the results of analytical processes using Geographic Information System (GIS) desktop and online software. Coordinates the procurement and distribution of spatial data. Participates in the design and implementation of spatial databases and assists programming and software staff understand spatial data processes in support of creating and maintaining end-user applications. Under supervision prepare project plans, direct vendors, and coordinate internal team members in the completion of spatial data collection plans and projects.   Responsibilities - Performs standard and moderately complex analysis of spatial data using GIS technology (e.g., buffering, spatial overlays, distance calculations). - Diagnosis and troubleshoots GIS software across the entire GIS software stack. - Researches and corrects problems with data using spatial and logical analyses. - Performs data searches and retrievals. - Extracts and organizes data. - Research source documents to resolve missing or conflicting data. - Converts GIS data to CAD software format. - Uses coordinate geometry to convert surveying data to GIS format. - Task manages aspects of standard and moderately complex GIS projects or independently manages components of more complex GIS projects. - Creates and manages online tools using spatial data. - Serves as a database administrator for spatial data which may include versioning databases. - Reviews work products of other technical staff. - Participates in professional and personal development aligned with career goals. - Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and VHB policies and procedures. ABOUT THE POSITION Electrical Engineer | Energy Practice | Any VHB Office | Hybrid   VHB’s is looking to add an Electrical Engineer with extensive solar and battery storage design experience to our growing Energy Engineering practice. The position would work with other practice groups in VHB, including civil and structural engineering, environmental, planning, and regulatory groups primarily as part of an integrated team supporting renewable energy project design, permitting, and delivery.   Responsibilities - Assist and oversee the development of electrical layout, one-line documents, construction documents, and specifications for commercial and utility scale solar PV and battery storage systems. - Assist and develop specifications, collect data, and complete utility interconnection applications and building permit applications. - Assist and develop detailed equipment specifications. - Coordinate activities between clients, utilities, permit agencies, contractors, and other engineering disciplines. - Conduct site assessment and analysis via on-site data collection and network tools. - Oversee site specific production analysis of PV arrays using models such as PVsyst and evaluate tree shading impacts on output. - Assist with the integration of energy storage systems into the solar PV system. - Prepare written technical reports and oral presentations documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations. - Provide expert electrical engineering witness services. - Perform system impact studies. - Provide mentorship and training to entry level and junior engineering personnel. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Environmental Resources Group in Atlanta is seeking a historian to work with our expanding cultural resources group. Key responsibilities include historic resource survey and the preparation of environmental and planning-related documents for transportation, planning, and land development projects.   This position requires periodic outdoor work with limited travel. Strong written and verbal communication skills are paramount, and the ideal candidate must be detail-oriented with the ability to effectively convey technical information. ABOUT THE POSITION The Employer Outreach Specialist assists with worksite-based outreach efforts, building and maintaining partnerships with employer partners and strategic partners within the 9-county area of the Florida Department of Transportation’s District 5 (Brevard, Flagler, Lake, Marion, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter, and Volusia). The region’s Commuter Assistance program, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) reThink Your Commute, aims to bring together businesses and employees to explore the shared benefits of carpooling, vanpooling, transit, biking, walking, and telecommuting. By connecting commuters with alternatives to driving alone, the program strengthens Central Florida’s quality of life by decreasing traffic congestion, improving air quality, conserving natural resources, and helping people save money. You will assist employers with the development and implementation of worksite-specific commuter options programs that reduce drive-alone travel among employees. You will work in a fast-paced environment with daily interaction with the client and employer contacts. This position will offer 20 hours per week for the first 3 - 6 months, with a high chance of additional weekly hours. Responsibilities Performs a range of outreach tasks aimed at enhancing opportunities for individual travelers and commuters to utilize non-drive-alone transportation options, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, bicycling, walking, and teleworking. Activities including coordinating and providing for the strategic development, implementation, and administration of outreach programs, community relations programs and activities; coordinates resources and facilitates communication between staff, local jurisdictions, transit partner agency staff, and community business groups; and plans and staffs a variety of community/business outreach events. ABOUT THE POSITION Archaeologist | Atlanta, GA | SE Regional US   VHB’s Atlanta, GA office is seeking an Archaeologist to work with our Environmental Services Group. Key responsibilities of the position include conducting and supervising archaeological surveys, preparing and reviewing archaeological resource assessment reports, and evaluating archaeological resources for energy, transportation, planning, housing, and land development projects. ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Site Civil Project Manager – Land Development | Hybrid | New York City Metro   VHB’s New York City office, named to Crain’s New York Business 100 Best Places to Work in New York City, is seeking a highly motivated, outgoing, and effective Senior Site / Civil Project Manager with 11+ years of land development experience in private sector real estate to join its growing Civil/Design practice. This hire will support projects for New York City metro region.   This is an outstanding opportunity to join a dynamic organization and lead a growing team while working on exciting assignments throughout the region. Candidate would lead projects from start to finish, including initial scoping through design, permitting approvals, and construction phase services for a wide range of civil engineering projects. ABOUT THE POSITION The Modeler/Planner will work our Southeast teams (Atlanta, Orlando, Gulf Coast) to assemble and prepare data for model validation and long-range future year travel forecasts; conduct model validation to required accuracy standards; and prepare the documentation.    Responsibilities: - Establishes budgets. Monitors project progress for technical accuracy and adherence to schedule and budget. - Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance. - Analyzes complex design problems.
