ABOUT THE POSITION
Geomatics Survey Project Manager | Hybrid position
VHB’s growing New England region is seeking a Geomatics Survey Project Manager to join our Geomatics team. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in Land Surveying for a variety of applications, including boundary determinations, topographic surveys, utility surveys, highway surveys and subdivisions. The position requires up-to-date knowledge of current technologies, and a proven ability to manage land surveying projects. Potential for candidate to be hybrid based out of our Wethersfield, CT, or Providence, RI offices.
Responsibilities
- Manages projects, project staff, and clients
- Project management, including management of budget, scope, and schedule for small, moderate, and large land survey projects
- Management of project staff and clients
- Performance and/or oversight of surveying calculations
- Analysis and interpretation of public records research, including deeds, plans and other pertinent documents for the project
- Perform field checks, manage quality control of all products
- Coordinate survey efforts with other groups in an integrated services environment
Skills and Attributes

VHB is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Environmental Scientist / Engineer / Geologist for our strong and growing Site Investigation & Remediation practice in Hauppauge, NY. This hire will assist in team, client, and project management responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to determines requirements and develop plans, specifications, drawings, instructions, cost estimates, reports, final bid packages, and related documents
- Develop and manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs
- Provide mentoring and hands-on support to junior team members during field exploration and testing

Responsibilities
- Technical and design report writing
- Work within a team of professionals in developing site civil engineering plans, reports, and specifications for a multitude of land development projects
- Civil engineering for retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy, and industrial site design including grading and drainage design, utility design, and site layout
- Preparation and/or reviewing design criteria, drawings, and specifications
- Compilation of Stormwater Management reports, including Hydrologic modeling and pipe sizing
- Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation

- Attending meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues

Responsibilities

ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB has an immediate need for an experienced Environmental Engineer to join our growing Site Investigation & Remediation practice in our Watertown, Massachusetts or Providence, Rhode Island office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review technical documents and reports with a high level of proficiency.
- Work in a fast-paced team environment where there are several projects proceeding at any given time.
- Mentor junior staff regarding engineering designs, soil/groundwater/soil vapor remedial designs, field procedures related to soil and groundwater sampling collection, monitoring well installation, construction oversight, etc.
- Drafts proposals, prepares budgets, reviews invoices, and communicates with clients.
- Develops remedial plans, specifications, drawings, instructions, and remedial cost opinions; designs remedial systems for groundwater treatment, vapor intrusion, etc.
- Manage time appropriately to produce high-quality products for VHB’s clients.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of the MassDEP and RIDEM environmental regulations and related guidance documents pertaining to spill assessment and cleanup, underground storage tanks, hazardous waste, etc. Experience working in other New England states is a plus.
- Interest or experience in Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plan inspections and reporting, sub-slab depressurization system (SSDS) design, and aboveground and underground storage tank inspections, design, and regulations is a plus.
- The candidate must have experience working on land development/construction-related projects and preparing the associated regulatory submittals.
- Ability to work in field and office settings
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Candidates will need to be able to demonstrate exemplary writing skills and the ability to perform detailed reviews of documents prepared by others. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that high-quality reports are provided to senior staff for review.
- Motivated and ability to problem solve, be adaptable, and work in a team environment.
- The individual should be involved with professional organizations and be interested in continuing professional education to remain up-to-date on current regulations.
Requirements
- BS in Environmental or Civil Engineering; Master’s Degree a plus.
- 5+ years required, 8+ years preferred of previous professional environmental/remediation consulting experience.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in MA and/or RI, a plus.
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certificate and current 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher.

ABOUT THE POSITION
VHB’s is seeking a Billing Specialist to join our Finance team. This position can be based in either our Richmond, Virgina Beach or Williamsburg, VA office.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly preparation and processing of client billings
- Maintain project financial records and billing files
- Assistance with project setup/budgeting; including review of contract compensation and billing methods
- Provide both internal and external support with regards to tracking and collection of project accounts receivable
- Accounts payable coordination with subconsultants and vendors
- Assistance with research & resolution of client questions pertaining to invoicing
- Support the Finance team and Project Managers with various other finance and contract related tasks
