Together, we are helping to shape the energy landscape for a more sustainable tomorrow.   VHB is looking to add a Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineer with distribution and/or transmission line design experience to join our growing Energy Engineering practice.  The position would be part of an integrated team supporting substation, distribution line, sub-transmission line, and transmission line project design, permitting, access, and construction support.  The position can be based anywhere in VHB’s footprint and be within a reasonable driving distance to one of our offices to engage in our hybrid work environment, but preferably in any of the following locations: Atlanta, GA/Albany, NY/Watertown, MA.   Responsibilities - Support electric distribution/sub-transmission/transmission upgrade and refurbishment projects. - Compile, review, and assess engineering archives, vendor drawings, and equipment specifications. - Design/Assess overhead lines, wood, concrete, tapered tubular steel, hybrid structures, and deep foundations. - Prepare bill of materials, structure work lists, minor design packages, major design packages, staking diagrams, plan and profile drawings, design specifications. - Prepare written technical reports and oral presentations documenting findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Skills and Attributes - Strong project management skills. - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. - Self-motivated with ability to think critically. - Experience with GIS Systems, PLS-CADD, Asset Management systems, and Microsoft Office products. Qualifications - B.S. in Civil/Structural/Electrical Engineering with a concentration in structures/power - 1-3 years required, 3+ years preferred of professional engineering experience within the utilities industry  - EIT certification preferred  - Familiar with the NESC a plus Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Albany, NY is $65,000-83,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience. ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Environmental Engineer / Geologist - Federal Site Investigation & Remediation | Hybrid | Any VHB Office   VHB is seeking a Senior Project Manager/ Environmental Engineer / Geologist for our strong and growing Federal Site Investigation & Remediation practice.  This professional will support Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) response actions for federal land managers at contaminated sites located across the United States. Response activities will include managing preliminary assessments/site inspections, engineering evaluation/cost analyses, remedial investigation/feasibility studies, removal/remedial design, removal/remedial actions, and long-term monitoring programs.   Responsibilities - Manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs - Collaborate with other federal practice members - Provide occasional hands-on support during field exploration and testing - Leverage technology to support data management and visualization - Interpret/synthesize site investigation data - Evaluate potential contaminant migration pathways - Collaborate with human health and ecological risk assessors - Evaluate applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements (ARARs) - Effectively communicate project status and findings to clients through technical reports, correspondence, memoranda, and presentations - Perform routine project management tasks (proposal writing, budget tracking, invoicing) and develop new project opportunities - Mentor and possibly supervise junior team members - Manage client relationships - Attend and lead meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/compliance issues - Participate in professional organizations that promote relationships with clients and teaming partners - Write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda Skills and Attributes - Strong understanding of comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) response actions for federal clients - Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clients - Knowledge of site assessment/characterization, data analysis, remediation techniques, human health and ecological risk assessment processes - Understanding of contaminant transport and fate - Excellent written, report writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to recognize and manage business risk - Ability to problem solve and work independently Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field - Master’s Degree preferred (a master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience) - 11-15 years of professional site investigation and remediation experience required - Experience investigating and/or remediating sites subject to the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) required - Experience writing proposals for and managing federal contracts preferred - OSHA 40 hr. ABOUT THE POSITION Mobility Project Manager – Transportation Engineering Hybrid | New York, NY | Newark, NJ   VHB is looking a Mobility Project Manager with approximately 8 to 11 years of transportation engineering experience to join our vibrant and growing transportation consulting practice in our New York City office. We are looking for someone with a blend of technical expertise, managerial skills, and innovative thinking, who would play an important role in expanding and shaping the group.   Successful candidates will work with our Transportation, State/Local Government, Real Estate, and Institutional Market Sectors to win and execute projects in both the public and private sectors within the five boroughs of New York City. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Corporate Technology Enablement Team is seeking a skilled Technology Project Manager to join the team. In this role, you will play a vital part in orchestrating the planning, execution and successful delivery of our diverse technology initiatives and programs. Your responsibilities will encompass steering the complete lifecycle of various Technology projects both within VHB’s internal landscape and potentially in collaboration with external clients. This involves overseeing the entire spectrum of project activities, from conception, requirements gathering, and design, to development, testing, and implementation that are aimed at providing technological solutions to meet the end-users’ business needs. Typical projects involve a wide array of technologies and applications of technologies including areas such as Digital Twins, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), GIS, Big Data Analytics, Application Development, Relational Database Management Systems and Mobile Data Collection. Your role will be pivotal in steering these initiatives toward success. ABOUT THE POSITION Role/Responsibilities – Collaborate and partner with New England Market Leaders, Managing Directors, and the New England structures teams to increase our client base and grow coastal engineering services in New England.   - Developing and maintaining strong relationships and trust with coastal engineering and resiliency focused staff in New England and throughout VHB. - Developing and maintaining in-depth coastal market knowledge with a starting focus on client base within Massachusetts and expanding throughout the rest of VHB’s footprint. It is expected that the Director will bring significant client relationships and VHB’s leaders will work with the director to identify significant cross-selling opportunities. - Help drive the Strategic Initiative associated with building a coastal engineering and resiliency practice which will be a significant focus of VHB as part of the 2028 strategic plan. - Continue to develop VHB’s expertise in coastal engineering with the goal of creating a coastal engineering practice to deliver on that service. It is assumed that the Director will be responsible for identifying, pursuing and delivering coastal engineering work.  The Director will also play a significant role in identifying and recruiting candidates to build the practice. - Manage project teams responsible for delivering coastal engineering projects. - Perform project management responsibilities, including project scope development, client management, cost estimation, staff resource identification, implementation oversight, budget tracking, quality control and completion of administrative requirements. ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Project Manager/Civil Engineering Lead – Land Development | Hybrid   VHB’s growing Hauppauge, NY office is seeking a Senior Project Manager/Civil Engineering Lead to join our site/civil land development team. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking a dynamic and talented Transportation Engineer to join our Safety Practice in our Tysons or Metro D.C. office.
