  ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Virginia Beach, VA office is seeking a Civil Engineer to join our growing Land Development and Planning and Design team.   ABOUT THE POSITION Civil Engineer 3 – Assist with the project proposal process and determine project requirements (e.g., schedule and budget). For a detailed segment of the project, lay out full design plans, plan details and outlines, identify quantities of materials, cost estimates and perform calculations. Plans to be prepared in Owner-format in addition to applicable standards per City of Boston, City of Cambridge and City of Somerville required formats for permitting. ABOUT THE POSITION Energy Market Leader | NY/NJ   VHB has an immediate need for a Energy Market Leader to expand our growing energy practice in the New York/New Jersey region. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of the electric, oil and gas, renewables, and telecommunication markets and have firmly established relationships and contacts with public- and private-sector clients at the decision-making level within the greater New York/New Jersey region.   In addition to aiding in the development of marketing strategies aimed at new market penetration and client retention, the Energy Market Leader will also be responsible for managing key client relationships and coordinating and overseeing energy projects in the region. The position demands a proven ability to develop business, establish meaningful client relationships, manage projects and mentor staff. ABOUT THE POSITION The Communications Lead, undergeneral direction, manages strategic internal and/or external communications and visibility activities and projects. Partners in the development and implementation of communications programs to elevate VHB’s relations and engagement with employees, clients, and the AEC industry. Independently leads assigned communications projects for targeted clients, pursuits, projects, and/or employee culture and engagement communications in support of VHB’s strategic plan, initiatives, and goals. May assist in the day-to-day management of the Communications team, in coordination with communications management. May have direct reports.   Primary Duties & Responsibilities  - Independently leads the implementation of strategic communications projects/assignments and deliverables in support of VHB’s strategic plan and key growth initiatives related to key clients, pursuits, projects, and employee engagement and culture. - Establishes and maintains internal programs and events, highlighting key media outlets, conferences, events, and/or other internal and external visibility platforms that VHB should be engaged in as they relate to positioning for key pursuits, client development, or employee engagement and culture efforts. - May manage communications direct reports, including hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; coaching and motivating, and resolving problems. - Works with offices, clients, pursuit, marketing, and HR teams to collaborate on and direct the focus and content for communications programs and other visibility efforts (e.g., pursuit-specific positioning pieces, client-focused brochures, employee communications programs, updates, events). - May research and monitor web-based media and other outlets as they relate to clients and/or targeted pursuits. Follows current events and trends related to targeted clients and future pursuits. - Leads and oversees content development, communications campaigns, industry event identification, planning, client and employee communications and engagement strategies, media relations, award submittals, and other key activities that maximize overall visibility and prominence in the marketplace and elevate the employee and client experience. - Guides development of content for VHB Central, Viewpoints, social media, and other communications platforms (e.g., content coordination, development, quality review, promotion). Determines and/or approves placement of internal and external communications. Works with external communications or video/design production firms as needed. - Oversees production of deliverables and other communications literature (e.g., writing, artwork, printing, and mailing functions). Oversees operation of direct communications initiatives and activities. - Provides communication coaching and support to regions, market leads, marketing teams, and others as needed.  Minimum Qualifications - 6-8 years’ experience, leading & supporting marketing communications in the AEC industry - 1 year of supervisory or leadership experience preferred - BA in Public Relations, Marketing, English, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $90,000-120,000.The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location.    WE ARE VHB! ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our Orlando, FL team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Responsibilities - Work within a team of professionals in developing transportation planning studies, report documents, and transportation master and action plans  - Conduct traffic analysis, concept development, and traffic operations studies - Assist with the development of smart cities and emerging transportation technologies planning studies, concept development and implementation planning - Assist with development of support materials for public involvement activities - Support with authorship of project-related documentation for a range of transportation planning studies, demographic analyses, and multi-modal / transit-oriented projects - Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities - Review transportation studies and policy documents  Skills & Abilities - Working knowledge of software such as Synchro, SIDRA, and HCS - Working knowledge of data analysis tools such as ArcGIS and Excel - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills - Team-oriented with strong capability to work independently - A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve - The ability to work on multiple projects - Capability to work remotely, as needed Qualifications - Minimum 3 years professional experience beyond research and academia - Experience with FDOT projects recommended - Candidates must have a BS in Civil Engineering - EIT or PE Registration preferred WE ARE VHB!
