The position offers the opportunity to be a part of our successful water resources practice that provides municipal, state, and federal governmental agencies and private sector clients a full array of integrated professional water resources services including:   - VSMP Water Quality and Quantity Design (Stormwater Management) - MS4 Regulatory Compliance - Floodplain management   A strong candidate for this role must be competent in performing water resources engineering work and demonstrate a broad knowledge of hydrologic/ hydraulic analysis and design methods. A strong candidate will be able to independently make sound preliminary engineering decisions, develop water resource design plans, write design specifications, and technical reports. The candidate should be capable of transforming design intent to engineering drawings and specifications. The candidate should have a thorough understanding of construction methods and the way engineering drawings and specifications are translated into the constructed product. The candidate should have a firm grasp of the fundamentals of engineering processes and their application to operating systems. The candidate must uphold engineering ethics and standards of conduct. About the Position Site/Civil Engineer | South Burlington, VT Responsibilities - Work within an integrated team of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude and public and private infrastructure projects with a focus on sustainability and resiliency - Preparation of design plans from schematic design through construction documents - Assist in the preparation of permitting, design and construction documents - Manage small and moderate-sized projects and evaluate project financial performance - Engage in business development and client relations - Technical and Design Report writing - Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues Skills & Abilities - Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environment - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Self-motivated - Attention to detail Qualifications - BS in Civil Engineering or related field - 5+ years of professional site/civil engineering experience, including consulting/private sector experience - EIT or PE strongly preferred - AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required - GIS, HydroCAD, and StormCAD experience a plus - Experience preparing graphics and maps Please submit applications online.   New employees will be onboarded virtually and begin their employment from home. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in Land Surveying for a variety of applications, including boundary determinations, topographic surveys, utility surveys, highway surveys and subdivisions. About the Position Survey Project Manager | Wethersfield, CT Responsibilities - Responsible for successfully managing complex projects, staff, and clients - Perform business development activities to market new survey work and other VHB services - Establish budgets and schedules for new projects - Write proposals and review survey contracts, thorough understanding of terms and conditions - Guide and direct survey staff with respect to budgets and schedules - Performance and/or oversight of surveying calculations - Analysis and interpretation of public records research, including deeds, plans and other pertinent documents for the project - Coordination of Project staff, field crews and Survey/CAD Technicians - Perform field checks, manage quality control of all products - Professional certification of maps, plans and drawings Skills and Abilities - Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of Land Surveying, including legal requirements, boundary determinations and ALTA requirements - Knowledge of local subdivision and zoning requirements - Thorough understanding of the use of up-to-date survey technologies and interface with AutoCAD Civil 3D - Ability to direct and monitor construction layout services - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills - Detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines Qualifications - 10+ years of professional land surveying experience, including managing large-scale, complex land surveying projects - CT PLS license required - Client management and business development experience - Proficiency in all aspects of land surveying including boundary line and topographic survey as well as construction stakeout - Experience with electronic instruments, field data collectors, AutoCAD and Civil 3D software, GPS and robotic instruments Please submit applications online.   New employees will be onboarded virtually and begin their employment from home.
