ABOUT THE POSITION Water Resources Project Manager | Providence, RI/Watertown, MA   VHB’s Water Resources group is growing across MA and RI, and we're looking for a Project Manager/ Senior Water Resources Engineer with strong hydraulics/hydrology experience to join its dynamic team of Water Resource Engineers and water quality specialists. In this position you will assist our clients with developing strategic, cost-effective, and forward-thinking solutions to their water resource, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental challenges. You will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from site to watershed scale. Projects may include stormwater retrofits, bridge hydraulics and scour, stream restorations, flood mitigation and management, and coastal resiliency. ABOUT THE POSITION Signal Engineer – Transit & Rail | Hybrid | New York, NY | Newark, NJ   VHB is seeking a Signal Engineer to join our dynamic growing Transportation practice in the Northeast. This position provides an opportunity to work on complex transit and rail infrastructure traction power projects and play an important role in expanding and shaping the group.   Under minimal direction, performs detailed phases of signal engineering design work for projects with complex features. Exercises independent judgment and decision making in evaluating, selecting, and applying advanced engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform work and make substantial adaptations and modifications as needed. Leads a team in developing signal engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of transit and railroad signaling projects (e.g., train control systems for light and heavy rail transit, and freight, commuter, intercity and high-speed railroad operations). The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s growing national Geomatics practice, has an immediate need for a Geomatics Survey Tech to join our Geomatics team. This position works on geomatics assignments that utilize point cloud and photogrammetric data to achieve various existing condition deliverables, including 3D digital models, 2D drawings and registered point cloud datasets. Projects could include, but not limited to elements of a transportation and energy infrastructure, architectural and engineering components of buildings and historical documentation. These projects will be moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.   Responsibilities - Completes field data review and post-processing activities - Implement 3D workflows and solutions - QA/QC and processes information received from field and outside sources - Land surveying including boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic survey, route survey, construction stakeout and utility surveys - Documenting all phases of survey work through clear field notes and data collection - Perform survey office calculations to process field data - Perform CAD 3D functions relating to the production and development of survey plans - May perform field crew coordination and set up for all types of field surveys - Direct the activities of a survey crew when needed - Assists with process of training geomatics professionals in calculations, data collection, upload processes, and ESRI software platforms - Ensures that project tasks have been completed, processed, reviewed, and delivered per project requirements and parameters - Assists project managers with planning field tasks, maintaining schedule, and reporting project progress Skills and Attributes - Solid knowledge of geomatics mathematics, field procedure, and data collection principles, practices, methods, and procedures - Knowledge and experience to understand technical, reality capture, and mapping calculations - Thorough working knowledge of industry standard geomatics equipment (eq. survey equipment, GPS equipment, reality capture equipment) with ability to adapt to new equipment and emerging technologies - Proficient in reading and understanding engineering, architectural and structural drawings - Understanding of boundary, topographic, construction, and utility surveys - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with survey staff and clients - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of geometry and trigonometry - Detail and task oriented, team oriented with ability to work independently Qualifications - 1-3 years of geomatics/survey experience, whether through coursework or professional experience - High school diploma or GED required - Familiarity with AutoCAD, ESRI, ArcGIS, and ArcPro software preferred - Experience in coordinating geomatics projects, including setting up crews and equipment - Experience in collecting, post-processing and resolving data discrepancies as it relates to conventional GPS planning We are VHB! We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments. ABOUT THE POSITION Project Manager - Structures, Flexible location   Our New England transportation team is looking for a Project Manager - Structures to work on large, complex transport and related projects across the VHB footprint. This role will allow for location flexibility for the right person. - Lead pursuits of major bridge and other transportation projects - Assist in preparation of qualification packages, proposals and other marketing materials - Manage major bridge and other large/complex transportation projects - Provide project management support/mentorship to other project managers - Provide technical support/mentorship to structural engineering staff - Perform oversight of engineering design for bridges and other transportation infrastructure - Prepare construction documents, including plans, specifications, estimates and calculation. - Perform quality assurance reviews of project construction documents, engineering reports, etc. Skills and Attributes - Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail - AutoCAD Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation experience - Must possess strong project management and technical skills - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills - Familiarity with bridge design and detailing (steel, concrete, prestressed concrete) and seismic analysis - Familiarity with structural engineering software (AASHTOware, LARSA 4D, MDX, midas Bridge, Mathcad, etc.) Qualifications - 8+ years of professional bridge design/transportation related experience - B.S.
