ABOUT THE POSITION VHB has an exciting opportunity for a Bridge Inspection Assistant/Team Member to join our Structures group’s growing bridge inspection practice. The role would involve serving as an inspection Team Member to plan and perform bridge and culvert inspections with a senior Inspection Team Leader. Tasks would include the development of field notes, assembly of record documents, and upon completion of the inspection, generating inspection reports utilizing standard formats. The work would involve a mix of office and field work which utilizes aerial lifts and ladders. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial, and experienced engineer to serve as the VDOT Transportation Design Program Executive (PX). The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the growth of the VDOT Transportation Design practice to increase market share across the state of Virginia. As the company continues to grow and undertake projects of greater scale and complexity, the VDOT Transportation Design PX provides high-level strategic guidance and support to Project Managers (PMs) on large-scale, complex transportation projects, enabling PMs to focus on project execution while ensuring the overall success of projects. ABOUT THE POSITION The Corporate Broadband and Digital Equity Director is responsible for establishing and directing VHB’s Broadband and Digital Equity program throughout our current and targeted footprint, consistent with VHB’s Strategic Plan and OneVHB.  The leader will create a strategy to establish VHB as a partner of choice enabling clients at the Federal, State and local governments, public and private utilities, and other institutional facilities expand their broadband coverage and improve digital equity for their stakeholders.  The Director will foster collaboration between internal and external partners to deliver on VHB’s strategic outcomes in this area, and leverage funding from various sources such as Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) and state and local funds.  This position will also partner with other Innovation-focused programs in the office of CTO, technology-enabled teams, VHB Market and Service Leaders to leverage joint-opportunities to pursue win-win strategies and advance those programs.  The Director will maintain VHB’s strategic advantage, maintain a roadmap for sustained growth, evaluate performance, and develop opportunities for new business ventures within each of the markets VHB operates in and services VHB provides. ABOUT THE POSITION   VHB is seeking a Structural Team Leader to lead our dynamic and growing Structures group in our Washington, DC or Tysons, VA offices. In this position, you would serve in a lead role in the planning, analysis, design, and detailing of bridge and other transportation related structural projects, as well as helping to lead and mentor technical staff. Responsibilities  - Prepare preliminary and final design documents for bridge-focused projects - Project management/task management - Staff mentoring/development/technical oversight - Business development - Oversee structural design of highway and/or railroad bridges, transit and rail stations, and ancillary structures - Assist in the field with structure inspections - Preparation of cost estimating and contract documents Skills & Abilities - Must possess strong technical skills - Detail oriented and quality focused - Team oriented with strong capability to work independently - Motivated to lead and mentor others - Demonstrated excellence in verbal presentations and technical writing is essential - Familiarity with complex structural design and detailing - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Self-motivated and collaborative - Excellent attention to detail Qualifications - 11-15 years of civil or structural engineering experience  - BS in Civil Engineering (structural emphasis preferred) (1-2 years of experience can be substituted for a master’s degree) - PE licensure - Experience completing transportation studies, design reports, final design documents and developing contract plans, in conformity with accepted engineering standards and procedures including AASHTO & DOT - Knowledge of structural engineering software (AASHTOWare, LARSA 4D, MDX, SP Column, MerlinDASH, Mathcad) - AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation v8 and Connect experience is a strong plus WE ARE VHB! ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Highway Engineer - Project Manager | Hybrid | New York City, NY | Newark, NJ   VHB's New York City office is seeking a Senior Highway Engineer/Project Manager who is passionate about managing innovative design build and transportation engineering projects. This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing team, and tackle NYC's most complex highway, rail, and roadways projects. This is an opportunity to “think outside the box” and work with contractors to develop innovative engineering solutions to challenging design problems. Experience working with state and local transportation agencies (NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCDDC, MTA, PANYNJ, etc.) is highly desired.    Responsibilities   VHB is seeking an individual to lead tasks and manage transportation projects within a team of highly motivated engineers. This may include: - Leading a team of engineers to deliver multi-disciplinary transportation engineering projects - Supporting the production of design plans, calculations, specifications, and permitting documents (including but not limited to highway design, WZTC, roadside design, grading and drainage and utility relocations) - Being a trusted advisor to the client, acting as the main point of contact for the design team, contractor, subs, and stakeholders. - Providing technical QA/QC - Overseeing construction support services (review of submittals and RFIs) - Assisting with business development activities and proposal writing - Assisting with scheduling and management of project financials  Skills and Attributes   - Knowledge of the policies, procedures and design standards of NYCDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDDC, MTA and/or NYCDEP - Knowledge of industry-standard engineering software (e.g., MicroStation, InRoads/OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, Civil3D) - Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Ability to manage a multidisciplinary team and multiple deadlines - Team oriented and motivated to lead/mentor junior staff - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented Qualifications - 11-15 years of civil design engineering experience required - BS in Civil Engineering required - PE license required  Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New York City is $130,000-180,000.
