Projects include urban infill projects, ski resort and recreation projects, and industrial facilities.   Responsibilities - Work within an integrated team of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects in developing site civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of public and private projects with a focus on sustainability and resiliency - Preparation of design plans from schematic design through construction documents - Assist in the preparation of permitting, design, and construction documents - Manage small and moderate-sized tasks and projects and evaluate project financial performance - Engage in business development and client relations - Technical and Design Report writing - Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues Skills and Attributes - Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environment - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Experience preparing graphics and maps - GIS, HydroCAD, and StormCAD experience a plus - Self-motivated - Attention to detail Qualifications - BS in Civil Engineering (a Master’s degree may be substituted for 2 years of experience) - 5-8 years of professional site/civil engineering experience required, including consulting/private sector experience - 8-11 years experience preferred - EIT required, PE license preferred - AutoCAD Civil 3D experience required   WE ARE VHB!   ABOUT THE POSITION Our Transportation team works with public, private, and institutional clients to support a variety of projects. Our services include design of multilane highways and interchanges to the reconstruction of arterials and local roads, bridges, small intersection improvements, on- and off-street bicycle facilities, operational analysis, multimodal planning, conceptual design, parking analysis, and safety evaluations. We collaborate across our footprint with numerous other VHB groups on many of our transformative projects.   Responsibilities - Collaborate with numerous VHB staff, clients, and consultants to advance projects in a timely manner - Assist in development of planning and engineering solutions - Assist in data mining and visualization - Perform analysis of data or calculations - Perform field data collection and other on-site project support activities - Prepare written documents, summarize information collected by others, and assemble reports Skills and Abilities - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Team oriented with strong capability to work independently - Self-motivated with attention to detail - A strong work ethic with the desire to learn and achieve - Knowledge of drawing and mapping tools such as AutoCAD and GIS - Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) required Qualifications - Currently pursuing a degree in engineering or related field - Strong interest in transportation, land development, urban design, real estate, environmental, institutional, or energy sector - Ability to work on a computer remotely - Ability to travel locally and complete fieldwork if necessary WE ARE VHB!
