ABOUT THE POSITION GIS Analyst | Williamsburg, VA Under close supervision receives specific assignments to conduct standard analyses of spatial data for users. Produces maps expressing the results of analytical processes using desktop software. Coordinates the procurement and distribution of spatial data. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking a Electronics Technician to support the National Parks Service, embedded in a client’s office in Denver, Colorado. The NPS Traffic Program operates and maintains ~150 continuous traffic count stations located in ~50 parks in 27 states.   Responsibilities: - Work with parks to troubleshoot and replace malfunctioning traffic count station components, either over the phone, at the park or in the NPS workshop - Test, update firmware and program traffic counters and modems - Work with parks to conduct their annual inspections and review results - Work with NPS engineers to create new count stations in traffic database - Create count station sketches based on field reviews - Conduct field work, scoping new count stations and/or inspecting/repairing existing count stations based on NPS specifications and creating inspection reports - Identify potential new traffic counting technologies for the NPS - Work with parks during deployment of portable traffic counters - Assist the NPS Traffic Program Manager in the creation of the NPS Traffic Data Annual Report - Manage the processing of traffic data from on-site traffic counters to the NPS traffic database and maintain daily log of equipment communication - Drive Federal government vehicles Requirements: - High school diploma or GED - 5+ years of data collection experience - Driver’s license, clean driving record, reliable transportation and cell phone - Experience in trouble-shooting malfunctioning electronic equipment remotely or in a workshop - Ability to proficiently troubleshoot electronics through application of electronic principals - Experience with a multimeter, and other electronics test equipment - Proficiency with Windows operating system and software - Experience with communication systems including analog telephone and cellular communication technology is a plus - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Field work in parks may require hiking up to 0.5 miles in rugged terrain - Office work will require lifting boxes that weigh up to 30 lbs - The selected candidate is anticipated to travel approximately six times per year Hiring Salary Range - $47,632 - $71,448.  However, the final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, and experience. VHB has an immediate need for a Regional Transportation Technology Manager for the local region to drive growth and to direct execution of VHB’s Transportation Technology programs in the local market.    The successful candidate responsible for establishing, guiding, directing, and overseeing VHB’s Transportation Technology services within the local market, consistent with VHB’s Strategic Plan and OneVHB.   The Transportation Technology Manager will partner with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and the Transportation Technology Director, in outlining VHB’s strategic approach, identifying a roadmap for successful growth, evaluating performance, developing strategic planning, and assessing new business ventures in the transportation market.     Responsibilities: - Drives growth and directs execution of VHB’s Transportation Technology programs, working with CTO, Transportation Technology Group Leader (TTG), local Regional Manager (RM), and Service Leaders (SL) to bring the best transportation technology to client challenges (“value engineering with technology”). - Provides project executive oversight on key transportation-related technology projects to help ensure clear scoping and financially viable deliverables in the short and long term. - In collaboration with TTG Leaders and RM, identifies, develops, recruits and mentors VHB’s future transportation personnel with a focus on technology, including those with strong business development and client relationship expertise. - Understands the latest trends in transportation technology and works with SLs and RM to build and maintain local market knowledge to assist TTG leaders in making appropriate investment and prioritization decisions. - Evaluates strategic initiatives and provide guidance to CTO, TTG leaders, Regional Managers and Market and Service leaders as to their alignment with the overall transportation technology enabled strategy. Develop our vision for VHB in the coming years to achieve a strategic position in the Transportation Technology market for local region. - Provide technical knowledge ITS / Transportation Technology that ranges from planning, design, implementation, and operations of roadside infrastructure. - Understand the current Transportation Technology services / staff resources provided by VHB, and coordinate team strengths and weaknesses. - Assist marketing in development of VHB’s external visibility, branding and promotional efforts related to Transportation Technology in local markets. In addition, represent VHB at conferences, seminars, industry events and provide technical presentations. - Serve as Principal in Charge / Project Management on major strategic pursuits. Today, technology-enabled consulting has never been more important, and at VHB, it’s at the center of all we do, which is why we are seeking a Regional Technology Enablement Lead for the Mid-Atlantic Region (Maryland, District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina) to lead our growing Technology practice.      Regional Technology Enablement Lead, Mid-Atlantic Region | Washington, DC , Tysons, Corner, Richmond, Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, Raleigh, or Charlotte   In this role, you will join a group delivering some of the most transformative technology projects across the region while overseeing business development activities and project delivery. You will establish, guide, direct, and oversee VHB’s Technology Enabled program throughout our current and targeted footprint to outline VHB’s strategic approach, identify a roadmap for successful growth, and assess new business ventures. Business development efforts will include client management and maintenance, new opportunity identification, and leading major project pursuits. Project delivery services will include leading complex application development and analysis projects from the early design phase through development and deployment. Typical projects involve safety management systems, big data analytics for multi-modal planning, and GIS on-call services.     Responsibilities   - Develop a vision and implementation strategy for local and regional groups, and communicate these across the region   - Maintain active market knowledge while understanding internal and external capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses   - Support regional and corporate strategic initiatives while promoting a OneVHB mentality   - Assist with annual business planning when we set our goals for the upcoming year - Guide business development efforts with an emphasis on advance positioning and early identification of strategic pursuits    - Coordinate teaming decisions with leadership   - Drive the use of innovative technology within the markets served by VHB core service groups in the region - Lead and oversee key pursuits    - Manage and grow key client relationships   - Establish strategic partnerships with technology vendors - Serve as team leader of the regional technology staff - Support the advancement of elevating data/technology with the regional team members - Take an active role in the development and mentoring of staff   - Manage high-profile projects of various size and complexity   - Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules and budgets   - Lead development of project deliverables and provide quality control   - Collaborate with PMO to manage financial progress on projects   - Represent VHB at regional conferences, seminars, and industry events   - Manage and prepare technical and cost proposals   - Develop or oversee training programs that position VHB to be forward thinking on data and technology initiatives   Skills and Abilities   - Comprehensive understanding of a broad range of practical technologies with a depth of skill and experience in one or more of the specific focus areas that VHB is advancing - General understanding of each of the services VHB delivers to clients - Strong leadership skills with ability to coordinate subject matter experts in areas beyond own expertise - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Team oriented with ability to perform multiple tasks independently in a timely manner and collaborate effectively and positively with all levels of the organization, including Market/Service Leaders within the office, region, and throughout VHB - Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented. - Skills and knowledge must be commensurate with required experience and job level - Strategic thinker with ability to develop a vision for the practice    - Ability to thrive in highly collaborative team environments    - Deep market knowledge and visibility across the industry   - Ability and interest to engage, inspire, mentor our best and brightest    - Excellent project management skills    Qualifications   - 10+ years of IT experience, preferably in the AEC industry - BS in Computer Science or related discipline - Prior leadership experience - Demonstrated and progressive relationship with Mid-Atlantic-area clients such as DDOT, VDOT, NCDOT, RDU, BWI, CATS, GoTriangle, WMATA and other state and local government clients in the area.   At VHB, we’re invested in what we do, compelled by intellectual curiosity, and driven to work collectively to best serve our clients and help shape the future of our communities in a meaningful way.
