About the Position VHB’s growing Southeast Environmental Services team has an immediate need for a Water Resource Director.  This role can be filled in either our Tampa or Orlando, FL office. The successful candidate will have a least 15-20 years of professional experience, including water resource consulting experience in the energy, transportation, real estate, and/or local government markets. Applicants should be experienced in designing studies, analyzing data, modeling, and with the preparation of reports and local, state, and federal environmental permit applications within their water resource discipline. In addition to participating in high-profile transportation, private development, and environmental/natural resource projects, the Water Resources Director will also be responsible for leading business development efforts and the management and mentoring of water resources staff.   The position offers the opportunity to be a leader within our successful water resources practice that provides municipal, state, and federal governmental agencies and private sector clients throughout the Southeast Region with a full array of integrated professional water resources services including:  - Watershed / Water quality - Stormwater management - Floodplain management A strong candidate for this role must be competent in performing water resources engineering work and demonstrate a broad knowledge of hydrologic/ hydraulic analysis and design methods.   About the Position Site/Civil Project Manager | MA (hybrid) VHB is seeking an experienced Site/Civil Project Manager to support our land development projects. Responsibilities - Manage work and development of Land Engineering projects and staff - Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions - Responsible for project financial performance and client relations - Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects - Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents - Prepare and review drawings and specifications documenting the systems designed - Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues  - Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration  Skills and Abilities - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Self-motivated - Attention to detail - Ability to think critically - Ability to multitask - Strong computer skills (CAD & MS Office) - Excels working in a team environment - Exhibits strong leadership skills  Qualifications - BS in Civil Engineering or related degree - 8+ years of professional site/civil engineering experience - PE licensure in Massachusetts or ability to obtain within 12 months - Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management - Recent project experience in the Cities of Boston and Cambridge preferred - Understanding of the Massachusetts marketplace About Us WE ARE VHB! About the Position VHB is growing!  We are seeking an experienced Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Leader to join our Structures group and our growing bridge inspection practice.   Bridge Inspection Assistant Team Leader In this position, you will serve an important role in the planning and execution of bridge inspections and the development of bridge load ratings. The role would involve serving as an inspection Team Member, planning, and coordinating inspections, and development of inspection reports. The work would involve a mix of office and field work. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun environment. The position includes significant opportunities for personal and professional development and growth within VHB’s emerging bridge inspection practice.   Responsibilities - Planning and performing structural inspections of highway and railroad bridges, culverts, ancillary structures, and buildings in accordance with NBI and AREMA Standards - Completing of bridge inspection reports for MBTA, MassDOT and other state and local agencies - Performing load ratings for structures - Preparing design drawings, specifications, and procedures for bridge repairs - Completing additional bridge design work as shifting workload requires - Mentoring younger staff Skills & Abilities - Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces and adjacent to live highway and railroad traffic - Familiarity with MassDOT, AASHTO, and AREMA design codes - Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills - Proactive and self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail and quality - Strong organizational and time management skills - Enthusiasm to learn, seek out opportunities, and take responsibility - Ability and willingness to travel (throughout New England), including overnight, as required - Experience with vertical lift equipment, under bridge inspection trucks and rope access credentials are a plus Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering - 0-2+ years of professional bridge inspection and load rating experience - NHI/FHWA Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges course preferred - NHI/FHWA Fracture Critical course preferred About Us WE ARE VHB!
