About the Position VHB’s growing Westbrook, ME office has needs for remote based, per diem, traveling Geomatics/Survey Crew Chiefs to join our Geomatics Team to support national project needs. These positions are per-diem, require travel, working 6 days per week, 10 hours per day, on large scale surveying projects that support natural gas pipeline, electric transmission, and other large scale energy projects. About the Position VHB is actively looking for a Mid- Senior Level Coastal Engineer to join our team in Williamsburg, Virginia Beach or Richmond offices.  The Coastal Engineer will assist with the planning and design for waterfront and coastal structures projects, including living shoreline stabilization approaches, revetments, dredging, marinas, marine terminals, urban waterfront developments as well as wetland restoration. The ideal candidate for this position will have technical experience in designing and permitting a variety of coastal projects and is a licensed professional engineer.  The candidate who fills this position will join a high performing team that provides clients with multi-disciplinary engineering and science-based solutions to coastal management challenges including coastal engineering, coastal flood risk, resiliency and adaptation design, and dredged material management. About the Position VHB’s expanding Geomatics team is seeking to bring on a CAD Tech to join our growing Geomatics/Survey team.  This position offers flexibility to be on-site or hybrid in Orlando, FL or remote within the continental US with expectations of operating during standard business hours in the Eastern time zone. In this role, you will perform various CAD tasks under the direction of the Orlando team’s Senior Geomatics Manager and alongside VHB’s more than 100 Geomatic professionals across the footprint.  You will be an integral part of the teams involved in planning, developing, managing, and conducting spatial data management activities related to surveying, boundary law, mapping, cartography, construction, spatial information systems, land development, and commerce.   Responsibilities - Completes field data review and post-processing activities and ensures project tasks have been completed, processed, reviewed, and delivered per project requirements and parameters - Documenting all phases of survey work through clear field notes and data collection - Perform survey office calculations to process field data - Perform public records research to obtain deeds, plans, and other pertinent documents for the project - Review and interpret deeds and plans to determine the location of boundary lines using Principles of Boundary Surveying - Perform CAD 3D functions relating to the production and development of survey plans - Assists project managers with planning field tasks, maintaining schedules, and reporting project progress - Land surveying including boundary, ALTA/NSPS, topographic survey, route survey, construction stakeout, and utility surveys as required   Qualifications - High school diploma or GED  - 4+ years of geomatics experience, whether through coursework or professional experience - Valid driver’s license with a good driving record - Solid knowledge of geomatics mathematics, field procedure, and data collection principles, practices, methods, and procedures - Experience with AutoCAD, ESRI, ArcGIS, and ArcPro software - Experienced in the Principles of Boundary Survey, Topographic, Construction/Utility Surveys, and electronic data collection - Experience in coordinating geomatics projects, including setting up crews and equipment in various types of terrain and environments - Experience in collecting, post-processing, and resolving data discrepancies as it relates to conventional, GPS, and reality capture methodologies - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with all levels of survey staff and clients - Strong geometry and trigonometry math skills   Preferred Qualifications - Associates degree in Land Surveying or other related Land Development Science - Thorough understanding of ALTA and boundary surveys WE ARE VHB! VHB serves the offshore wind industry as the lead regulatory, permitting and technical consultant.
