Responsibilities: - Manage the growth of Land Development practice to increase market share three I-64 offices - Lead a team of professionals to develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of small, medium, and large land development projects   - Develop new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions - Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents - Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues with them  - Traditional plan reviews and specifications - Regulatory Compliance and Tracking Potential Changes - Mentoring - Participation in kick off meetings, working on Basis of Design document templates, etc. - Mid-Atlantic LD QA/QC Steering Committee - Engage a core group of active participants to share the responsibilities, assist in communications and establish priorities - Encourage Design Integration and Collaboration - Maintain Specifications and Details - Hydraulic/Hydrologic reviews - Direct Project Involvement as a Senior Resource to guide permitting strategy and coach staff through complex design elements - Assist with Resource Planning – get the right people on the right jobs - Communicate and synthesize best practices through interaction with other regional and corporate QA/QC and Risk Management leaders - Help lead and build a multi-dimensional team of land development engineering professionals  Skills and Abilities: - Excellent coaching and mentoring skills - Embrace a flexible project approach and ability to be more competitive in the market - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills independent thinker - Must exhibit a thorough understanding of engineering concepts and skills - Familiarity with standard terms and conditions and site/civil contract scope development. - Good organizational skills - Self-motivated - Excellent attention to detail - Ability to think critically and solve problems - Ability to work well in team-oriented structure  Requirements/ Qualifications:    - 15+ years of experience - BS in Civil Engineering - Licensed in Virginia as a Professional Engineer - Recognized leader within the industry as demonstrated by participation and leadership in professional and industry associations and by general reputation in the market as demonstrated by positive and solid references.   VHB is proud to be an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer. Serves as marketing lead across the client-visibility-pursuit (C-V-P) lifecycle. Independently leads, mentors, and manages other marketers. May serve as lead marketer for the region’s most complex pursuits (Super Strategic, Design Build, etc). May assist in the day-to-day management of the marketing team and/or direct reports, in coordination with marketing management.    Responsibilities Clients - Participates in marketing and business development meetings. Understands the Focus Forward Approach and marketing’s role and strategic partnership in its success to support revenue growth and prominence in the market. - Partners with marketing management to support execution of Market and Client Focus Team strategies. - Facilitates and leads Client Mapping and SWOT analyses. - Understands Opportunity Pipeline concept and intended goals and outcomes. Provides pursuit process leadership. - Mentors and reviews proposal and interview deliverables of peer and/or less experienced marketers. Coaches on best practices and suggestions. Reviews/edits narratives for content clarity, compliance, and key messages. Ensures successful transfer of capture plan knowledge and win themes. - Partners with marketing management in facilitating Capture Planning sessions. Works with Pursuit Champions in monitoring progress and execution of Capture Planning strategies, as assigned. Communicates and elevates concerns and progress challenges to marketing management, as necessary. - Facilitates proposal strategy discussions for less experienced marketers and technical practitioners. Identifies and communicates win themes and approaches to win. Independently weaves win themes into all proposal sections. Identifies how clients perceive VHB and our competitors. - May manage a marketing team, including hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; coaching and motivating; and addressing problems. - Works with graphic design staff to plan and produce materials.
