ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s New England Region is seeking a Geomatics Equipment Operator to join our team. Check out VHB’s Geomatics service page to learn more about this team and our capabilities!    Responsibilities - Perform various land surveying tasks under the direction of more senior Land Surveyors including: - Operation, transport and setup of Robotic total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other land surveying equipment - Land surveying including boundary line, topographic survey, construction stakeout and utility surveys - Reconnaissance and recovery of land surveying markers through use of hand tools and digging - Construction stakeout of proposed improvements, including installation of stakes through use of sledgehammers and hand tools - Operation and maintenance of surveying equipment  - Documenting all phases of survey work through clear field notes and data collection Skills and Abilities - Proficient in reading, understanding, and evaluating the significance of survey, right-of-way, engineering, and architectural drawings with respect to each survey project - Ability to learn the proper use of GPS equipment and Robotic Instruments and mathematical concepts such as fundamentals of geometry - Ability to learn and understand the basics of boundary, topographic, construction, and utility surveys - Able to think critically - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with survey staff and clients - AutoCAD experience desirable  Qualifications - 0-1 year of experience or willingness to learn using standard survey equipment (i.e., RTK GPS, total station, levels) - High school diploma or GED - Willing to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements - Ability to transport land surveying equipment, navigate and traverse through difficult terrain, environments, and wooded areas - Must have a valid driver’s license  - Must be able to lift 75lbs - Experience with AutoCAD Civil3D desirable, but not required - Experience with Leica survey equipment desirable, but not required We are VHB! We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking a Marketing Coordinator to join the team. This position assists and/or prepares in drafting and producing routine proposals, qualifications, and other marketing materials with close supervision and direction from others. Completes all assignments in compliance with client deadlines, proposal budgets, and quality expectations.   The role provides an exciting opportunity to be based in any of our New England offices, which includes Wethersfield, CT; Providence, RI; Watertown, MA; Boston, MA; Springfield, MA; Worcester, MA; Bedford, NH; S. Burlington, VT; Rutland, VT; Montpelier, VT; South Portland, ME; Augusta, ME; and Westbrook, ME.   Actively participates in marketing activities across the entire Client-Visibility-Pursuit (C-V-P) lifecycle, with primary focus on pursuits. Actively trained and mentored on programs and marketing’s role across the lifecycle.   Pursuits - Supports proposal administration and preparation efforts through all phases of proposal development. ABOUT THE POSITION Are you a detail-oriented and organized individual looking for a flexible role in finance and accounting? VHB is currently seeking a part-time IT Financial Assistant to join our team. As a member of our IT department, you will be providing crucial support in accounts payable, purchase orders, reconciliation, and contract tracking for our technology related spend.   This position would be out of one of VHB’s New England offices, preferably Watertown, MA or Bedford, NH and would have the option to work from home if needed for up to 50% of the time.   This role is for 20 – 29 hours per week during core business hours. ABOUT THE POSITION Senior Environmental Engineer / Geologist - Federal Site Investigation & Remediation | Hybrid | Any VHB Office   VHB is seeking a Senior Project Manager/ Environmental Engineer / Geologist for our strong and growing Federal Site Investigation & Remediation practice.  This professional will support Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) response actions for federal land managers at contaminated sites located across the United States. Response activities will include managing preliminary assessments/site inspections, engineering evaluation/cost analyses, remedial investigation/feasibility studies, removal/remedial design, removal/remedial actions, and long-term monitoring programs.   Responsibilities - Manage effective site investigation and remediation field programs - Collaborate with other federal practice members - Provide occasional hands-on support during field exploration and testing - Leverage technology to support data management and visualization - Interpret/synthesize site investigation data - Evaluate potential contaminant migration pathways - Collaborate with human health and ecological risk assessors - Evaluate applicable or relevant and appropriate requirements (ARARs) - Effectively communicate project status and findings to clients through technical reports, correspondence, memoranda, and presentations - Perform routine project management tasks (proposal writing, budget tracking, invoicing) and develop new project opportunities - Mentor and possibly supervise junior team members - Manage client relationships - Attend and lead meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/compliance issues - Participate in professional organizations that promote relationships with clients and teaming partners - Write technical reports, correspondence, notes, and memoranda Skills and Attributes - Strong understanding of comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) response actions for federal clients - Ability to effectively communicate complex topics with colleagues and clients - Knowledge of site assessment/characterization, data analysis, remediation techniques, human health and ecological risk assessment processes - Understanding of contaminant transport and fate - Excellent written, report writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills - Ability to recognize and manage business risk - Ability to problem solve and work independently Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology or related field - Master’s Degree preferred (a master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience) - 11-15 years of professional site investigation and remediation experience required - Experience investigating and/or remediating sites subject to the Comprehensive Environmental Response Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA) required - Experience writing proposals for and managing federal contracts preferred - OSHA 40 hr. ABOUT THE POSITION Transportation/Traffic Engineer - Design | Hybrid   VHB is seeking a strong Transportation/Traffic Engineer with solid design experience to join our vibrant and growing transportation consulting practice in Connecticut.
