ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s NYC office is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the team for Summer 2024. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is hiring a growth-focused, entrepreneurial engineer for the role of Transportation Service Director in the I-64 Corridor, from Richmond to Hampton Roads. The successful candidate will drive VHB's growth in the corridor, collaborating with project managers, clients, and teams across project life cycles to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction. Responsibilities include project delivery, mentoring junior staff, client interaction, and supporting business development to increase market share. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s growing Washington, DC office is looking for an Environmental Planner to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team and across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s is looking to add a Civil Engineer with solar, substation, and transmission line access experience to join our growing Energy engineering practice. The position would be part of an integrated team supporting solar, substation, and transmission project design, permitting, and delivery.  The position can be based anywhere in VHB’s footprint but must be within a reasonable driving distance to one of our offices to engage in our hybrid work environment.  Significant work is expected to support ground mounted solar and battery storage projects in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.   Responsibilities - Oversee the development of civil design permitting plans, construction documents, and specifications for commercial and utility scale solar PV and battery storage systems. - Oversee the develop of civil design permitting plans, construction documents, and specifications for Substation projects, including rebuilds, new, and expansions. - Oversee the development of civil design permitting plans, construction documents, specifications, and quantity estimates for electrical transmission line access road projects, including pull pads and work pads. - Coordinate activities between clients, utilities, permit agencies, contractors, and other engineering disciplines as needed. - Lead site assessments and analysis via on-site data collection and network tools. - Oversee site specific production analysis of PV arrays using models such as PVsyst and evaluate tree shading impacts on output. - Provide mentorship and training to entry level and junior engineering personnel relative to grading, drainage, and the utilization of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and model-based design. - Assist in build-out of design team to support the design and delivery of a multitude of projects in the renewable and investor-owned utility markets. ABOUT THE POSITION Water Resources Project Manager | Watertown, MA  VHB’s Water Resources group is growing across MA, and we're looking for a Project Manager/ Water Resources Engineer to join its dynamic team of Water Resource engineers and water quality specialists. In this position you will assist our clients with developing strategic, cost-effective, and forward-thinking solutions to their water resource, ecological restoration, transportation, and environmental challenges. You will have an opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, ranging from site to watershed scale. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Geomatics team have a need for a Geomatics Project Manager to join our New England region. The successful candidate must be knowledgeable in Land Surveying for a variety of applications, including boundary determinations, topographic surveys, utility surveys, highway surveys and subdivisions. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s growing Southeast Environmental Services team has an immediate need for a Water Resource Director in our Orlando, FL office.  The successful candidate will have at least 15 years of professional experience, including water resource consulting experience in the energy, transportation, land development/engineering, and/or local government markets. Applicants should be experienced in designing studies, analyzing data, modeling, and with the preparation of reports and local, state, and federal environmental permit applications within their water resource discipline. In addition to leading water resource discipline work as part of high-profile transportation, private land development, and environmental/natural resource projects, the Water Resources Director will also be responsible for leading business development efforts and the supervision and mentoring of water resources staff.   The position offers the opportunity to be a leader within our successful water resources practice that provides municipal, state, and federal governmental agencies and private sector clients throughout the Southeast Region with a full array of integrated professional water resources services including:  - Watershed management / Water quality treatment - Stormwater engineering and management - Floodplain management A strong candidate for this role must be competent in performing water resources engineering work and demonstrate a broad knowledge of hydrologic/ hydraulic analysis and design methods. Performs lead discipline role in proposals and presentations - Analyzes technical problems, assesses the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures and devises new approaches and alternative solutions Management and Business Development - Managing clients and overseeing technical staff to complete projects. Manage personnel involved in engineering investigations and planning work - Assisting with business development opportunities and growth of the water resources practice in Central Florida and throughout the Southeast region.
