Position is flexible to remote option. About the Position Transit & Rail Engineering Project Manager | Washington, DC The Transit and Rail Project Engineering Manager will manage transit and rail projects, including conceptual, preliminary, and final engineering design involving light rail transit, bus rapid transit, commuter rail, intercity passenger rail and freight rail improvements. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation required. - Proficiency within a 3D processing software environment such as RealWorks or Cyclone preferred. - Experience in coordinating geomatics efforts, these could include directing Reality Capture field collection and procedures, preferred. - Experience in collecting, post-processing, and resolving data discrepancies as it relates to reality capture methodologies. Your work in transportation planning will contribute to providing safe and reliable modes of transportation in the Metro DC region.   Responsibilities: - Performing work in data science and visualization that requires the use of complex methodologies, challenging datasets, and close coordination with project managers/stakeholders. - Conducting data analysis and develop data visualization components of client projects and for research and development efforts. - Keeping an eye on labor-intensive processes and analysis and identifying ways to streamline and automate them so they can create organization-wide value. - Developing and applying a variety of methods for the analysis of complex transportation and geospatial data sets. - Keeping abreast of trends in technology and finding ways to connect them to solving challenges to mobility and access to opportunities. - Writing reports, technical memos, and presentations.    Skills and Abilities: - Passion for transportation, especially transit, and improving access to mobility in urban, suburban, and rural communities. - Proficiency in R (preferred), Python, and/or, SQL. - Experience in Geospatial (ESRI, QGIS, PostGIS, etc.) - Experience designing, implementing, and documenting analytical solutions using code.
