ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s growing Wethersfield, CT office is seeking a paid Transportation Engineer/Planner Intern to join our Transportation Systems group the summer of 2024, May to August inclusive. ABOUT THE POSITION   MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTATION PLANNER   VHB’s growing Raleigh, NC team is looking for a Multimodal Planner to join us as an entry or junior-level planner. The selected candidate will support the development of multimodal safety plans and other multimodal plans. The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of traffic safety for all roadway users, transportation planning for pedestrians and bicyclists, and conducting data analysis.    Responsibilities - Employ an increasing knowledge and experience in a variety of topics, such as using safety data, public health, and pedestrian and bicyclist transportation. - Work with an interdisciplinary team to conduct public engagement and develop solutions for all modes of transportation. - Support project managers and other planners in the development of reports, presentations and other deliverables.   Skills and Attributes - The ability to work independently and on multiple projects - Ability to apply data and statistics to safety and planning projects - Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills - Eagerness to learn about best practices for multimodal safety and pedestrian/bicycle transportation   - Enthusiasm about multimodal transportation and roadway safety - Understanding of national guidelines and best practices for multimodal design and pedestrian/bicycle countermeasure selection Qualifications - 0-1 years of experience in transportation planning or traffic safety - 1-3 years of experience in in transportation planning or traffic safety preferred - Bachelors in Planning, Public Policy, Civil Engineering, Public Health or related field - Masters degree in Planning, Public Policy, Public Health or related field is preferred, but not required     We are VHB! We’re an inspired and innovative team of engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with clients in the transportation, real estate, institutional, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments. ABOUT THE POSITION Structural Bridge Engineer | Providence, RI | Wethersfield, CT | Hybrid   VHB’s Rhode Island Structural Team has an opening for a Structural Bridge Engineer to join our established and growing team. You will be working on a wide variety of bridge projects in Rhode Island and New England using cutting edge tools to design and create digital models of bridges.
