ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking an entry level Landscape Designer to join their I-64 (Richmond, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach) VA office. Our past and present clients include municipalities, institutional clients such as higher education, State DOT’s, National Park Service and private interests throughout the eastern United States.   Responsibilities - Working with a project team, assist in developing site design from concept through construction - Assist in the preparation of private development applications. Research and interpret comprehensive policy plans, zoning regulations and Land Development Codes. - Assist in the preparation of planning documents for public sector projects. ABOUT THE POSITION Archaeology Crew Chief   Under moderate supervision, performs assignments that require the application of archaeological survey and testing techniques, and procedures. Exercises independent judgment utilizing scientific principles, practical logistics, and best field personnel management practices. Leads field crews in the collection of archaeological data and works within an overall environmental team to assist with the preparation of environmental documents. Identifies, tests, and mitigates archaeological resources. This position requires frequent travel to location and potentially working in various weather conditions and terrains. Applicants can expect up to 80% field deployment per year as part of this position. Travel may include overnight stays. Single occupancy and per diem reimbursement are provided. Deployments may range from 5 to 10 days on site.   Key Responsibilities - Conducts Phase I, II, and III archaeological surveys. - Prepares field survey and geographic maps using ESRI software, including data preparation in Survey123 and Field Maps Apps. - Ensures field survey maps are accurate and are accessible to crews prior to survey. Manages the post-field data curation. - Provides artifact analysis and assists in curation efforts when needed. - Conducts archival and historical background research. - Responsible for the accurate recording of in-field geographic data - Supervises and mentors field technicians. In this role, you will provide crucial support in managing financial aspects of engineering projects. This position is hybrid and may be based in either our New York, NY or Newark, NJ office.    Responsibilities - Develops and enhances knowledge of contract administration principles and techniques. - Assistance with project setup/budgeting; including review of contract compensation and billing methods. - Accounts payable coordination with subconsultants and vendors including logging, reviewing and coding of invoices. - Assistance with research and resolution of client questions pertaining to subconsultant invoicing. - Responsible for monthly preparation and processing of routine client billings. - Follows established procedures for processing receipts, cash, and invoices. - Maintain project financial records and billing supporting documentation (timesheets, expense reports, etc) in compliance with client requirements. - Support the Finance team and Project Managers with various other finance and contract related tasks. - Provide support with regards to tracking of general office expense costs. ABOUT THE POSITION VHB’s Environmental Resources Group in Atlanta is seeking a historian to work with our expanding cultural resources group. Key responsibilities include historic resource survey and the preparation of environmental and planning-related documents for transportation, planning, and land development projects.   This position requires periodic outdoor work with limited travel. Strong written and verbal communication skills are paramount, and the ideal candidate must be detail-oriented with the ability to effectively convey technical information. The region’s Commuter Assistance program, and Transportation Demand Management (TDM) reThink Your Commute, aims to bring together businesses and employees to explore the shared benefits of carpooling, vanpooling, transit, biking, walking, and telecommuting. By connecting commuters with alternatives to driving alone, the program strengthens Central Florida’s quality of life by decreasing traffic congestion, improving air quality, conserving natural resources, and helping people save money. You will assist employers with the development and implementation of worksite-specific commuter options programs that reduce drive-alone travel among employees. You will work in a fast-paced environment with daily interaction with the client and employer contacts. This position will offer 20 hours per week for the first 3 - 6 months, with a high chance of additional weekly hours. Responsibilities Performs a range of outreach tasks aimed at enhancing opportunities for individual travelers and commuters to utilize non-drive-alone transportation options, including carpooling, vanpooling, public transit, bicycling, walking, and teleworking. Activities including coordinating and providing for the strategic development, implementation, and administration of outreach programs, community relations programs and activities; coordinates resources and facilitates communication between staff, local jurisdictions, transit partner agency staff, and community business groups; and plans and staffs a variety of community/business outreach events.
